This is an enzyme which is found within the bile ducts in the liver. When this enzyme increases, it can be an indication of obstructive or cholestatic liver disease. Due to the obstruction of the bile duct, bile is not transported properly from the liver. Increases in this enzyme is tested by the GT, (Gamma) which can also indicate alcohol usage.
